great performers

NY Times magazine recently did a story on the great performers -regardless if they were up for an award this year or not..
Very cool pics by INEZ VAN LAMSWEERDE and VINOODH MATADIN .. they are true artists..I would love to collaborate with another photo artist to create some funky stuff too.
These photos are simple but stunning.. click on the pic to go to see all their work.

So I found this blog when I did a search for my name on google

from bobbie frega's blog daily planet
...Jenae's question...
My sweet niece has a thoughtful head on her shoulders and her question is a good one:
why would an all loving god (who loves us so much!!!) give us a choice! knowing! most of us would not choose him (the right way)then... put us in a place beyond misery for eternity with no secondchance. if we do not choose him.
I am a casual philosopher and an armchair theologian ... but this made me think and draw from some of the wisest people I know (Greg over at Stand to Reason!)
Here is my answer to Jenae:
....because it is the greater good.....God knew before time began that this was the best of all ... the choice to be redeemed by Jesus, the best of all possible choices.

62-Year-Old California Woman Gives Birth

~this is funny and sad and good for them all at the same time.. unbelievable~

REDDING, Calif. -- A 62-year-old great-grandmother has become
one of the oldest women in the world to successfully give birth.
The healthy 6-pound, 9-ounce baby boy is the 12th child born to
Janise Wulf of Redding, Calif. Wulf also has 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her oldest child is 40.
Family members said Friday's delivery went smoothly, despite health concerns involving Wulf, who has diabetes and has been blind since birth.
Baby Adam is the second child born to Wulf and her third husband, Scott. Their other son is 3½. Scott Wulf, who is 48 years old, said he had always wanted children. He said their two sons, born through in-vitro fertilization,
are beyond what he had hoped was possible. Wulf isn't the oldest woman to give birth.
That record went to a Romanian woman who gave birth last year at the age of 66.

“The politics of the cross delivers a message to the nations, to all regimes and powers, and even unto the ends of the earth, marked by the cry of Jesus which invokes the psalm: kingly power belongs to the Lord, and dominion over the nations is his (Psalm 22:28). That is truly what the Incarnation is all about.” - William Stringfellow

nights like these

Yesterday was turning out to be a terrific day.. Granted I was in meetings all day , but they were good meetings. So after work(6pm) I went to hang out with some friends doing a work project (i'll tell you about that project in a later blog) . It was still proving to be a good day. I couldn't hang out long because I needed to pick Jason C-upp up from the airport after his multi- week trip for work.
As i'm pulling in to the terminal my car just stops mid- drive --no signs, no warning -nothing..
So jason's plane has landed--he's waiting for me. I call him and tell him the situation--he starts laughing uncontrollably. He tells me that he has his camera(the one day I didn't bring mine) and he will be bringing it to take pics of my sic car. While I was trying to figure out what I was going to do an ambulance and police car pull up behind me with full lights.. Everybody is staring, pointing and gawking.. ok maybe not gawking ,but I wanted to use that word in conversation. The Police officer comes over and says Ma'am what seems to be the problem--it looks like you're stuck.. well thank you Captain obvious . No actually he was nice and gave me a ride and free tow to lot G (which just in case you were wondering is actually the capital of B.F.E) Well -- it was so bizzare everyone was very nice.. Even the tow truck driver felt bad for me he wanted me to drive around with him all night to stay warm.. (very creepy so i said no) .. To make a long story short we found someone to look at the car not before our Ethiopian cab driver picked us up to take us to Zona Rosa at Tom Foolories so we could laugh over drinks.
